The Sustainable Fashion From Portugal showcase opens today to Portugal Fashion´s public. Under the motto 'Fashion Industry's New Chic', ATP´s project aims to show that Portuguese companies are committed to the new environmental model, and are at the forefront of sustainable innovation.
The exhibition, which lasts until next Saturday (October 16th), has of the following companies: Burel Factory, Lemar, Tintex Textiles, LMA, Acatel, Texser – Têxtil de Serzedelo, Albano Morgado, RDD Textiles, NGS Malhas and Troficolor, joined by Portuguese designers and artists. Altogether, they will create aesthetically interesting proposals capable of attracting the visitors’ attention.
All presented outfits are made from sustainable raw materials such as tencel, lyocell, organic cotton, recycled polyester, Portuguese flannel or viscose.
Proof of Portugal being at the forefront in terms of circular economy are the certifications obtained (GOTS, BCI, SEAQUAL, OEKO-TEX) and additional properties incorporated into the fabrics: antibacterial, anti-UV, easy-care, fast-drying, or odour-control, with the addition of 100% natural dyes.
The showcase is part of the Sustainable Fashion From Portugal: Fashion Industry's News Chic project, presented by ATP – The Portuguese Textile and Clothing Association, which is meant to be itinerant and to take the excellence of the made In Portugal further.
The project is co-financed by Portugal 2020, within the scope of Compete 2020 - Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization, with an eligible support amount of €739,989.66, of which €628,991.21 comes from the European Union, through the Fund European Regional Development.
